The didactic laboratory of wild herbs

Recognition of the most widespread spontaneous herbs, how to use them in artistic workshops  creatives, a path of awareness of the heritage of our spontaneous flora.

Educational objectives of the laboratory

Bringing children into nature to get to know the territory, knowing how to enhance it by knowing wild herbs and their uses in cooking and in natural phytotherapy, creating a respect for our flora.

Raise awareness and educate the new generations to consider the environment as the main creator of their well-being; 

Promote the development of methods and dynamics aimed at safeguarding environmental and food resources, promoting lifestyles more in keeping with human values and organic well-being; 

Spread the culture of the use of "Officinal Herbs" of the Mediterranean flora according to the dictates of the ancient herbal and popular tradition.  

Activities

The activities that will be proposed during the workshop will be:

Collection and recognition of the most common wild herbs according to the season;

Classification of herbs and creation of the Herbarium;

Recognition of trees and interaction activities with them;

Preparation of herbal teas, oleolites, tinctures, ointments, soaps, syrups, vegetable milk, etc ...

Cultivation of aromatic, medicinal and vegetable plants with biological-biodynamic-synergistic methods of intervention;

Use of herbs in artistic creations.

Practical information

Number of pupils who can be welcomed daily: about 50 (two classes)  both in Casaldianni and in the Garden of Casa Betania

In case of bad weather: possibility of welcoming schoolchildren in covered spaces 

How to use the meal: packed lunch.

Period: all year round

Costs

half day 6 € (including the snack offered by us) including the activities:

1) Collection and recognition of the most common wild herbs according to the season;

2) Classification of herbs and creation of the Herbarium;

3) Recognition of trees and interaction activities with them;

4) Preparation of herbal teas, oleolites, tinctures, ointments, soaps, syrups, vegetable milk, etc ...;

full day 10 € (including the snack offered by us) including the activities:
