The great passion that is maturing in the cooperative is the Spontaneous Herbs: what do you tell us?

tano, where they are found, what are the small and large species that we often trample on but which

boldly or simply grow on the earth without anyone planting them, so rustic, rustic

which, different from each other, pungent or soft, hairy, with pinnate or lobed leaves, high, small, with

different flowers, one more amazing than the other or like the weeds that invade the vegetable gardens, the countryside

pagna, the edges of the roads and grows rustic and tenacious snaking through the earth creating vast roots

that at each node sprout and proliferate in the fields and are eaten with relish by the

valleys and make their mantle shiny.

The dried and ground root is used to make wholemeal bread, for beauty in wraps, herbal teas

to purify the liver, kidneys and intestines, the mixture is used for sprains, nothing is thrown away, it was

loved by the Celts and the Salernitana school and used by children as a game, a real panacea!

This is how this plant gives us the tenacity to pioneer and innovate in these strange times

we live where the technological culture drags us into a cold and abstract world but, at the same time

po, calls us back to the roots and simpler lives linked to the earth, in order to see a

sustainable, green future, made of self-production for an autonomous and resilient sustenance!

The Casa delle Erbe in Casaldianni was born from these passions and ideals.

The original idea comes from two associations " Living with care " and " Living with joy " which for years have been proposing to activate the herb houses in all those abandoned places that often meet on the sheep tracks, on the Apennines, in places a little forgotten  but rich in herbs because left uncultivated!

To return to live in cohesion with the territory, with the people, with the plants, in a convivial and authentic way.

In the new herb house we have organized various days of  collection  doing

the herbarium of recognition, cooking them  and creating a mandala to enrich and co-

praise the space around us!

We have created a synergistic wheel of aromatic herbs; with lavender  , rosma-

rino, lemon balm, thyme, verbena, coriander, marjoram and basil where we can study

are cultivation, processing the most common and the most unusual uses.

The next synergistic wheel will want to be herbal dyeing in order to dye so

natural wool, linen, hemp and all those noble fibers that wearing them give us

they would have a totally different energy from synthetic products.

We are fortunate to learn from the vast culture left to us by  masters of medicine starting from a great woman: Saint Hildegard of Bingen, a German mystic from the year 1000 who professed medicine with plants, crystals, nutrition, musician and playwright, her writings  they are still studied and held in high esteem by medical schools, for their profound knowledge of the essential and indivisible link between man-nature-cosmos.

He then came to know contemporary masters such as Luigi Giannelli, coordinator of the archive of Traditional Mediterranean Medicine  and scholar of the ancient roots of Gemmotherapy.

We will learn to recognize and collect  the Spontaneous Herbs, drying and  use in the kitchen and in cosmetics, next October 5 from morning to afternoon we could collect and taste various herbs from our fields starting to cook them with creativity and passion, discovering how simple it is to create a home pharmacy with everyday remedies such as Hypericum oil and Rosemary ointment.
