New ESC volunteers arrive in Torrecuso: kicks off with local welcome, winery work, and community life.
On the 24th of august the new group of volunteers started arriving in Torrecuso. They were introduced to each other at the local café in Benvento, called Caffé dell´Orto and then shown the place that they are going to call home for the next few months.
The new team of ESC volunteers are Izabele from Sweden, Mohammed from Palestine, Maëlle from France and Vigga from Denmark. They will be learning about and helping within the organisation of Gramigna. Izabele and Maëlle short-term till the 21st of October and Mohammed and Vigga long-term till the 11th of December.
During the first couple of their days volunteering they have been introduced to the winery, LentaMente. They have helped during the bottling process and have also been helping with the labelling and waxing. Ending the days with cute social dinners with the of Gramigna’s team.
The locals are treating them well and the volunteers have been shown around at the bars and at the old centre and the castle of the town. They’ve also been to the local library and was met with open arms and was also gifted some books of the area of Torrecuso.
The volunteers are starting to settle in the new environment and the new social setting of co-living and the local traditions.
They are super excited for more new experiences and learning a lot of new skills both practical and social!
