Buon Orto Fa Buon Sangue - Urban Gardens in Benevento

BUON ORTO FA BUON SANGUE is an urban agriculture project promoted by the Associations "Gramigna", "Fratres Torrecuso" e "CAAT".

We created 40 small vegetable gardens in the fields made available by the health authorities of Benevento, assigned to citizens, informal groups and associations that have joined. With the creation of these gardens, a pole of urban agriculture was created that includes, in addition to social gardens, fields cultivated by the Cooperative Lentamente, "Orto di Casa Betania" social farm, managed by La Solidarietà Social Cooperative and Consorzio "Sale della Terra" Onlus.

The project stems from the desire to make of agriculture and urban gardens, an instrument for promoting quality of life, environmental sustainability and a convivial sociability, to increase the individual and collective well-being of the participants.

The project foresees a partnership between the three proposing Ngos, Cooperative Lentamente and Confederazione Italiana Agricoltori.(organization of farmers). Slow Food Benevento was also involved, to implement aspects related to native seeds and food sovereignty.

The project was funded by the CESVOB (Service Center for Benevento Volunteers) under the call "Micro Progettazione Sociale anno 2016".

We made a short film of our project, called ORTOMETRAGGIO
